Quick and Easy Homemade Tomato Sauce

Forget buying pasta sauce at the store. There's a cheaper and easy way to create it at home without the added sugar. Great for chicken parmesan or in any recipe that calls for pasta sauce.

Equipment

  • Blender or food processor

Ingredients
  

  • 1 14.5 oz can Diced tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 3/4 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt or salt substitute
  • 1 1/2 tsp Italian herb seasoning blend
  • cayenne pepper to taste (optional if you want it spicy)

Instructions
 

  • Add the can of tomatoes (liquid and all) as well as olive oil, herbs, and spices.
  • Blend well until smooth.
  • Heat sauce in the microwave or in a pot over the stove. Serve warm.
  • Keep any leftovers in the fridge for up to 1 week.
